Job Title: Mechanic

Location: Azerbaijan, Offshore Rig

A future potential vacancy has been raised externally for a Mechanic position as part of the offshore Business Unit and is available for Azerbaijani citizens only.

The Mechanic reports to the Senior Mechanic and is responsible for the maintenance of all equipment on the installation within Company scope / area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Maintain and repair as necessary all mechanical equipment, investigating defects and submitting reports as required.
• Maintain a preventative maintenance programme in accordance with Group repair and preventative maintenance procedures as directed by immediate supervisor.
• Report on parts, tools and supplies needed to maintain the equipment for which they are responsible.
• Carry out pipe work and equipment installation tasks in accordance with good engineering practice.
• Carry out mechanical isolations of equipment to be worked on by himself/ herself and others.
• Plan maintenance and repair tasks to minimize the effect on the drilling operation.
• Monitor any rig equipment supplied by other contractors or sub-contractors to ensure that it is suitable for use within the areas desired.
• Report any misuse of equipment to the Maintenance Supervisor / Senior Mechanic.
• Safeguard the rig tools and instruments in their care.
• Supply information for the completion of the Group’s reporting system data sheets e.g. Maintenance / Repair / Replacement job cards.
• Supply any information required for updating of any drawings, sketches or information of existing and replacement equipment.
• Obtain the necessary safety clearance for the nature/type of work to be carried out, in advance, in consultation with the HSE Adviser ad in accordance with safety procedures (i.e. WORK PERMIT).
• Investigate and report near misses and correct them immediately.

Requirements:

• Relevant technical education or recognized industry apprenticeship.
• Min of 3 years’ experience in electrical position on Drilling Rig, or previous suitable equivalent experience
• Knowledge of Offshore Drilling equipment.
• Good English language skills.
• Experienced within ISSOW/ eCOW permit to work system.
• Good communication skills.
• Microsoft Office literate.
• Be able to work in an integrated maintenance team and adaptability.
• Proven good safety ethic.
• Knowledge of CMMS, i.e. SAP, Maximo.
