We are happy to announce job opportunity of a full time Chef de Partie at InterContinental Hotel Baku. The moment a guest steps into one of our hotels, they walk into a genuinely memorable experience. As a Chef de Partie, you’ll be the person they rely on to feel the warm atmosphere that makes our guests feel at home in any location. 

Your day to day:

The Chef de Partie will assist in managing a single food and beverage outlet or a shift or section of food and beverage operations. Supervise kitchen employees and entry-level Culinary Staff in preparation and cooking of various food items and their garnishment and presentation. Responsible for menu planning and development and cost control. You will assist Sous Chef to direct the operation of the Outlet kitchen, including food preparation and quality, physical maintenance, and inventory functions, to ensure hotel quality standards and revenue goals are met and food and supply costs are controlled. You will implement the hotel and department regulations, policies and procedures including but not limited to House Rules and Regulation, Health and Safety, Grooming, Standard Operations Procedures, HACCP, Performing related duties and special projects as assigned, ensuring all procedures are conducted safely, being familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly, initiating action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers, logging security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements.

What we need from you:

Ideally, you’ll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we’re looking for:

• Completion of a degree or certificate in culinary arts
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a chef or equivalent combination of education and culinary/kitchen operations experience.
• Vast knowledge of international culinary practices, menus and offerings
• Knowledge of English and Russian languages is an asset
• A strong team player attitude
• First Aid/CPR certified
• Knowledge of safe and sanitary holding temperatures and procedures
• Ability to use safe storage techniques following storage and rotation policies and procedures
• Ability to follow recipes and cooking guidelines
• Ability to work in a clean, organized manner with attention to detail
• Ability to provide legible written communication
• Ability to think clearly, analyze and problem solve
• Ability to remain calm and courteous in demanding/difficult situations
• Ability to stand for a minimum of five (5) hours continuously
