Main duties:

• Manages all day-to-day operations of the pastry section of the kitchen
• Prepares a wide variety of goods such as cakes, pastries, puffs, tarts following traditional brand recipes and some modern new creation recipes
• Able to produce all baked goods including but not limited to cupcakes, sponge cakes, mousse cakes, pound cakes, laminated puffs, sugar tarts Eclairs, Flaky puff pastries and etc
• Able to creates new ideas and items for Pastry Kitchen
• Ensures excellent quality in the production of pastry products
• Follows proper handling and right temperature of all food products
• Decorate pastries and desserts using different types of icings, toppings etc. and ensure the food presentation will be beautiful and exciting
• Checks the quality of raw and baked food products to ensure that standards are met
• Assists in determining how food should be presented and creates decorative food displays
• Monitors stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar, chocolates etc. and make appropriate orders within budget
• Reports all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately
• Able to recognize superior quality products, presentations and flavours
• Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areas
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety standards

Candidate requirements:

• Previous experience in Pastry is mandatory.
• Hospitality experience is desirable.
• Strong communication skills, and ability to work in a team.
• Highly responsible & reliable.
