Material Control Specialist

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor stock levels of equipment and administer the stock database.
• Issue stock items required for projects to mechanics and operations personnel, as required.
• Receive services equipment back into stock and amend records, as appropriate.
• Carry out monthly rolling stock counts and reconcile against records.
• Order parts, raise PO’s and be responsible for follow up.
• Keep up to date with all new / modified tool requirements.
• Record defective deliveries and report to Workshop Supervisor, and update PO’s accordingly.
• Inform PO originator where applicable and ensure Supplier non-conformance is registered in QA & Safety Department Vendor database for further action (if required).
• Stamp all acceptable delivery tickets, and forward to Accounts Department for invoicing.
• Ensure all work areas are kept clean and free of obstructions.
• Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping.
• Ensure all material safety datasheets received are forwarded to QA/Safety Department for COSHH assessment.
• Act as focal point for internal/external Stores enquiries.
• Assist with the training of all workshop personnel.
• Implement quality, health and safety policies during all operational activities.
• Suggesting improvements as you see fit to Workshop Supervisor.
• Any other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Experience

• Relevant Bachelor Degree
• At least 5 years of Oil and Gas Industry experience
• Strong understanding of Quality Practices.
• Strong computer skills with literacy in Word for Windows, Excel and Power point
• Skills in and ability to prepare, with assistance, professional proposals
• Sound business and report writing skills
• Proven problem-solving ability with a solutions orientation matched with an ability to solve operational problems creatively
• Effective time management, organizational and self-discipline skills
• Good understanding of Integrated Management Systems and Continuous Improvement concepts
• Fluent English and strong communication skills
