Logistician 1 – BARDA

About the job:

Logistician 1 provides technical and operational support in the areas of purchasing, warehousing, stock management, reporting and statistics and fleet management in accordance with the ICRC’s logistics standards and local legislation

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage and ensure proper filing for some of the following supply-chain activities depending on the size of the operation:
• Supply-chain management and planning (manages and follows up on requests, provides customer desk service and carries out related reporting).
• Carries out purchasing and participation in purchase planning (purchase orders, request orders, supplier files, etc.).
• Warehouse management.
• Implementation and follow-up for financial and administrative procedures.
• Fleet management.
• Trains ICRC staff in logistics procedures.

Desired Profile and Skills:

• University Degree and certification in relevant (preferably) area.
• 3 to 5 years of total work experience in same area.
• Good command of English and Azerbaijani languages, any other language locally spoken is an asset
• Work (or volunteering) demonstrable experience in a similar position involving regular contact with communities, ideally 1-2 years in the humanitarian or social sector.
• Good computer literacy,
• Good knowledge of the region,
• Good communication and proven reporting skills,
• Good rigor, method and analytical skills,
• Cultural awareness and commitment to encourage diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

This is a full-time position for an employment contract of four months duration (may be extendable) opened to address the humanitarian needs consequent to the current escalation. The duty station is located in Barda and requires frequent field trips to the regions (often with overnights).
