Position: Education specialist
Within the framework of education project of UNHCR and 21st Century International Education and Innovation Centre, the education specialist is responsible to support target group of foreign refugee students in their educational issues by consulting them and affiliating with local educational institutions.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Regular monitoring of the academic progress of target group children by visiting schools and making phone calls.
- Facilitate access to primary and secondary education through liaison with target group community leaders and parents as well as local administration, on issues pertaining to education of children.
- Ensure update/maintenance of education data through making necessary entries in database
- Provide regular counselling on education related issues, including information on tertiary education
- Organizing additional/supportive education activities through selection of teachers, mapping of students to be involved in those activities and continuous monitoring
- Prepare lists of students for annual education assistance
- Identify children who are not attending schools, reasons, and suggest remedies to the situation through regular/ad-hoc update
- Monthly written detailed report to the project coordinator
Experience and qualifications:
- University degree, preferably in pedagogy, teaching, social studies
- Good knowledge of MS programmes (Word, Excel), emailing, the Internet
- Fluency (spoken and written) in Azerbaijani and Russian. B2 level of the English language
- Pedagogical experience
