This is a role within the Data Office plays an important part in implementation of the effective data governance and data management across the group companies to ensure the availability of high quality, well understood data to support business decision making and drive value realization.

Job description:

• Work with Strategic Assets responsible teams to implement Data Governance policies, procedures and standards at their organization;
• Keep activities aligned and oriented toward the greatest business need while maintaining timely communication with all key stakeholders and alignment with teammates inside and outside of data governance. Acts as point of contact for Strategic Assets Data Governance implementation and adoption topics;
• Serve as subject matter expert for Strategic Assets on Data Governance topics. Work with Strategic Assets data leads on complex data governance challenges, providing analysis and expertise in data governance or facilitate and drive the solution finding process;
• Contribute to data governance performance evaluation mechanism establishment and development;
• Maintain and routinely report on KPIs to measure adoption and implementation of the Data Governance;
• Generate high quality reports/visualizations to demonstrate effectiveness of data governance progress regularly , and escalate potential issues to the Data Governance Lead and/or higher management;
• Works with Strategic Asstes’ data leads and technical stakeholders to develop and maintain data quality dashboards to report on the quality of data across the organization as needed;
• Support preparation and coordination of meetings agendas, reporting, and presentations for data governance working group meetings;
• Facilitate discussion with data stakeholders on data governance and translate those discussions into workflows/processes/standards/presentations/requirements;
• Support Data Governance Lead in Educational & driving adoption of data governance;
• Support Data Governance Lead coordinate and support development of data people across the Strategic Assets to increase adoption of data governance principles and best practices;
• Help identify opportunities to standardize processes and implement solutions that would continue to grow data governance maturity. This may require business case analysis, vetting potential solutions, managing implementations along with developing any needed training and communication associated with assigned tasks and projects;
• Support Strategic Assets Data Governance tools implementations based on need;
• Provide recommendations for improving the overall organizations’ data governance and related processes and perform all required actions to make sure effectiveness of process;

Experience, Competencies and Skills Required:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in related field;
• Overall 7 years of work experience with minimum of 2 years of industry relevant work experience;
• Experience with process design, implementation, and improvement
• Individual who can drive project decisions and navigate technical issues across multiple teams;
• Experience developing best practices, policies, and/or procedures
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills; track record of ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders;
• Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and time management skills;
• The ability to manage multi-task effectively and interact in a matrixed organization;
• Availability of Project Management certificates is beneficial;
• Fluency in Azerbaijani, English and Russian;
• Working knowledge of MS Suite;
• Knowledge of Finance/Insurance market is preferable;
• Knowledge of Data Governance Policies & Procedures, Data Quality Dimensions / concepts, data bases and data base concepts;
• Clear, concise communications and being able to translate technical jargon into business understandings;
