We are seeking an experienced Tax Auditor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a robust accounting background and in-depth knowledge of tax regulations. This highly responsible role involves conducting tax audits for medium to large business entities, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and providing thorough analyses of financial records. The Tax Auditor will be responsible for the entire audit process of medium-sized accounts and larger accounts of average complexity.

Responsibilities:

• Audit financial statements of companies and individuals to verify the accuracy of tax returns.
• Assess the correctness of determining the taxable base and the legality of applying tax benefits.
• Evaluate the accuracy of calculating tax liabilities and mandatory payments.
• Analyze financial data to identify potential tax savings and minimize risks.
• Identify discrepancies in reported income and deductions, proposing corrective measures.
• Provide responses to taxpayer inquiries and assist in resolving discrepancies.
• Monitor the implementation of tax audit recommendations and respond to tax authority inquiries.
• Examine tax authority acts on taxation issues.
• Prepare and submit detailed audit reports to senior management.
• Represent the interests of the taxpayer in tax and other executive authorities, including arbitration courts.
• Provide ongoing consulting on tax legislation, including setting up tax accounting.
• Develop and implement tax audit programs.
• Present recommendations to improve the taxation system, optimize tax calculations, and minimize tax risks.
• Conduct preliminary calculations of tax payments for various business scenarios.
• Ensure compliance of tax accounting practices across business divisions with the company’s unified tax planning system. Prepare, lead and coordinate internal tools management included but not limited to BPC, Dynamix, Ariba etc.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Senior Tax Auditor, Senior Tax Consultant, or Senior Tax Accountant.
• Deep understanding of local tax legislation.
• Extensive experience in tax reporting.
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial data, and analytics.
• Familiarity with various accounting systems and procedures used by businesses.
• Proficiency in accounting software (experience with 1C is an advantage).
• Advanced MS Excel skills and knowledge of Power BI are considered assets.
• Strong ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage dynamic conditions.
• Independent, with excellent judgment and initiative, requiring minimal supervision.
• Client-focused, with a commitment to exceeding client expectations.
• Experience in training and supervising junior audit staff.
• A strong desire for continuous self-improvement in tax audit practices and business communication.
• High level of self-motivation and clear career aspirations.
• Creativity in developing new ideas, approaches, and solutions.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to systematically tackle problems and produce effective solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., ACCA, PMS) are preferred.
• Consulting experience is an advantage.
• Fluency in Azerbaijani and English; knowledge of Russian is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal effectively and tactfully with the public.
