Duties & Responsibilities:
Include, but are not limited to the following:
- Act as a focal point for instrumentation and control related queries.
- Develop maintenance and inspection procedures related to instrumentation and control devices and review them periodically to ensure they are up to date and cover all requirements.
- Develop instrumentation field maintenance and inspection regimes and procedures to reduce likelihood of failure and to ensure maintenance tasks are performed correctly and consistently
- Provide input to availability and reliability studies, defining spares requirements.
- Define performance standards for instrumentation and control devices safety critical elements.
- Define performance, functional and safeguarding specifications for instrumentation and control devices using applicable codes and standards.
- Select and apply instrumentation codes and standards for instrumentation and control devices
- Define the specification and selection of spare parts for instrumentation and control devices to be procured and arrangements for storage.
- Define required spare part stock levels and reorder quantities related to instrumentation and control devices.
- Support field personnel in troubleshooting of field instrumentation and control devices.
- Define instrumentation and control devices commissioning and startup methodologies.
- Manage the integration of operational and/or maintenance requirements into projects.
- Meet regularly with the customer to discuss issues related to instrumentation and control devices, modernization and upgrade projects.
- Initiate and lead Root Cause Analysis for the incidents related to instrumentation and control devices.
- Produce high quality reports with recommendations required to resolve technical issues and to improve equipment reliability and availability.
- Review OEM`s Service Bulletins and check applicability to the fleet. If applicable put in place actions to implement them.
- Lead and manage obsolescence studies for filed instrumentation and control devices.
- Provide engineering support at site for the installation, inspection, and testing of instrumentation and control devices.
- Produce work packs for upgrades and modifications related to instrumentation and control devices.
- Review NCRs related to instrumentation and control devices and track them to close out.
- Review reports (maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, root cause analysis etc.) and identify actions requiring engineering support.
- Make sure all technical documentation related to instrumentation and control devices is up to date.
Education/Experience and Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in instrumentation and control engineering (master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering field.
- Expert knowledge of codes and standards for instrumentation and control devices.
- Expert knowledge of PLC systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Ability to write clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
- Good analytical abilities with problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Be able to work on own initiative, work to deadlines and also be a team player.
- An ability to work well under pressure.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluent English language.
- Advanced PC user.
